9. Using the transmitter

The numbers used in these instructions refer to the illustration alongside the text or the illustrations within
the respective section. For this reason, the same number can represent different locations and different
operating elements in different figures. Cross-references to other figures are given in the text with the cor-
responding figure number.
The figures of the remote control and the model in these operating instructions are for illustrative purposes
only. The label, design and colour scheme of the products supplied in series may differ completely from the
figures in these operating instructions.
a) Inserting batteries into the transmitter, changing batteries
Open the battery compartment cover on the underside of the transmitter and slide it out towards the rear. Then insert
4 AA/Mignon batteries with the correct polarity (observe plus/+ and minus/-). Replace the battery compartment cover.
You can also use rechargeable batteries. However, the running time is much shorter due to the lower output
voltage of rechargeable batteries. We therefore recommend that you only use batteries and not recharge-
able batteries for the transmitter for reasons of operational safety and running time. It is also recommended
that you always have suitable spare batteries at hand when operating the model boat.
b) Switching on the transmitter
Check the correct power supply of the transmitter by putting it into brief operation for test purposes.
To do this, slide the on/off switch (Figure 2, no. 12) from the left "OFF" position to the right "ON" position. The power
LED (Figure 2, no. 11) lights up.
To switch the transmitter off again, slide the on/off switch back to the left "OFF" switch position.
If the power LED (Figure 2, no. 11) flashes after switching on or during operation of the model boat, the
batteries are weak or empty. In this case, stop using the model boat/transmitter immediately and replace
the depleted batteries with new ones.
