Switching ON the appliance and
important operating information
Before switching ON the
appliance for the first time
q Reposition the shelves, (Fig. 3/6), as
required in the door of the refrigerator
compartment.
q Take the egg rack, (Fig. 3/2),
out of the vegetable drawer in the
cool fresh compartment, unpack
and place on a glass shelf in the
refrigerator compartment.
q Check that the white caps,
(Fig. 3/32), are on the appliance
doors.
Warning:
Attach these three caps, otherwise
the appliance cannot function.
q Clean the inside of the appliance
(see the chapter on Cleaning
the appliance")
q Enter the water hardness
(see section "Descaling
the appliance").
Connecting the appliance
to the power supply
The socket should be easily accessible
(the best position is above the
high sided unit). Operate the appliance
only when installed.
Connect the appliance to 220-240 V/
50 Hz alternating current via a correctly
installed earthed socket. The socket
must be fused with a 10 A fuse.

If the appliance is to be operated
in a non European country, the
supply voltage, current type and
frequency of the appliance indicated
on the rating plate must correspond
with the specifications of your power
supply. The rating plate can be found
inside the appliance at the bottom
left hand side.
The mains connection cable may
only be replaced by an electrician.
Warning! NEVER connect the
appliance to power inverters which
convert the direct current to 230 V
alternating current (e.g. solar
equipment, power supplies on ships).
Switch the appliance ON
q Switch appliance ON:
master switch (Fig. 4/1) to ON.
The refrigerator, cool fresh and
freezer compartments are now
operating.
On the display (Fig. 2/19) the current
freezer compartment temperature
is shown.
On the display (Fig. 2/20) the set
refrigerator compartment
temperature is shown.
By pressing the button
(button illuminates) the set
cool fresh compartment
temperature is shown on the display
(Fig. 2/20).
The cool fresh" compartment
temperature has been set to +4 °C
at the factory. The set temperatures
are reached in an empty appliance
after several hours.
