Duration of descaling process
The programme runs for approx.
12 hours.
None of the refrigerating functions of
the appliance is affected during this
period; only ice preparation is not
possible. E6 to E30 is displayed.
Tips on conserving energy
q Install the appliance in a dry, well
ventilated room, but NOT in direct
sunlight and NOT near a heat source
(radiator, cooker, etc.). If required,
use an insulating plate.
q Allow warm food and drinks to
cool down before placing in the
refrigerator!
q To thaw frozen food, place in the
refrigerator compartment. The frozen
food will then cool other food in the
refrigerator compartment.
Information on operating noises
On account of its many functions,
the appliance features electric motors,
ventilators, compressors, switches and
solenoid valves which may be more or
less audible depending on the function.
End of descaling process
When descaling is complete, the
appliance automatically switches back
to normal mode and the temperatures of
the appliance are displayed, Figs. 2/19
and 20.
q Open and close the door as quickly
as possible!
q Clean the dust filter behind the air
grid regularly. This maintains the
performance of the appliance and
conserves energy.
q If the refrigerator compartment, ice
maker or freezer compartment are
not in use, they should be temporarily
switched OFF (see the chapter on
Switching functions).
Quite normal noises
q The humming noise is emitted by the
motor (e.g. compressors, ventilators).
For example, when the compressors
switch ON, the noise may briefly
increase in volume.
q The bubbling, gurgling or whirring
noises are emitted by the refrigerant
as it flows through the tubing.
q The clicking noise can always
be heard when the switches and
solenoid valves switch ON/OFF.
