Max. freezing capacity

To retain the vitamins, nutritional value,
appearance and flavour, freeze the food
as quickly as possible. Do NOT exceed
the max. freezing capacity of your
appliance.
A max. of 6 kg of food can be frozen
on the top glass shelf within
24 hours.
Food which is already frozen must NOT
come into contact with fresh food which
is to be frozen.
Note
Store frozen food only in the freezer
drawer and on the lower glass shelves.
Avoid freezing food in these areas.

Fast freezing

If there is already food in the freezer
compartment, switch ON fast freezing
several hours before freezing fresh
produce.
As a rule, 4-6 hours is adequate.
If max. freezing capacity is to be utilised,
24 hours are required. Smaller quantities
of food (up to 1 kg) can be frozen
without fast freeze. To switch ON fast
freeze, simply press the
button (Fig. 2/11) (the
illuminates). The refrigerating unit now
operates continuously.
The freezer compartment drops to a low
temperature.

Fast freeze can also be switched OFF by
pressing the
fast freeze button again
(the
button goes out).
Storage period
To retain the quality of the frozen food,
do NOT exceed the permitted storage
period. The storage period depends on
the type of food.
At -18 °C fish, sausage, ready meals
and cakes and pastries can be stored
for up to 6 months, cheese, poultry and
meat up to 8 months, and vegetables
and fruit up to 12 months.
Thawing frozen produce
Depending on the type of food and
intended use, frozen produce can
be thawed at room temperature,
in a refrigerator, in an electric oven,
with/without fan assisted hot air, in
a microwave.
Food which is beginning to thaw or
which has already thawed may be
refrozen if meat and fish was not above
3 °C for more than one day and other
frozen food was not above 3 °C for more
than three days.
If ready to serve meals were prepared
by cooking or frying food and refrozen,
the frozen produce should no longer
be stored for the max. storage period.
