4. SAFETY DEVICE
Shearing prevention system: Realized by means of microswitches and safety circuit in
compliance with the European directive. It starts when the dispensing door is opened and
switches the machine to STOP.
Beater motor reliability of service: Realized by means of overload relays with automatic
reset. They protect the beater motor against overloads by stopping the machine. The
STOP pushbutton lights up and the MIX pushbutton starts blinking.
Compressor motor reliability of service: Realized by means of overload relays (or
clixon) with automatic reset. They protect the beater motor against overloads by stopping
the machine. STOP pushbutton lights up and PRODUCTION pushbutton starts blinking 30
min. after the intervention of the protection device.
Auxiliary circuit supply safety system (24 V): realized by means of fuses 5x20. They
trip in case of short-circuit on the logic unit or on the auxiliary power supply.
In any case the machine carries out a series of tests during production:
Production – cleaning safety timer
It starts 120 minutes (KIKKA 3 - 330) or 30 minutes (KIKKA 1) after the beginning of
production or cleaning, if the consistency minimum value set up by the manufacturer is not
reached. It stops the machine and makes pushbutton STOP and MIX light up. In this case
check the presence of troubles in the refrigerant circuit and/or check the proportion of the
batch.
Current transformer safety device
It operates in case the current transformer is disconnected or broken down. It stops the
machine and makes STOP pushbutton blink.
Tank temperature probe safety device
It operates when the temperature probe is disconnected or short-circuited. It stops the
machine and makes STOP pushbutton light up and PRESERVATION pushbutton blink.
Protection against voltage drops
It operated when the machine is in production, in case a voltage drop higher than 20%
takes place. It resets the machine to protect the electric components. The machine
automatically comes back to operation and lights up all pushbuttons as soon as the
voltage reaches the rated values again.
Logic unit self-reset in case of lack of power supply
It stops the machine allowing the manual reset of functions.
Logic unit self-diagnosis (watch-dog)
It controls possible internal troubles and stops the card in case of failure.
