b) Programming the Special Functions

The speed controller is already programmed ex works with sensible pre-settings.
If a LiPo battery is used as a drive battery, check the basic settings of the speed controller for whether
undervoltage protection is activated (usually 3.0 V/cell). With the undervoltage recognition deactivated, the
LiPo battery will suffer deep discharge and be destroyed.
If an NiMH- or NiCd-drive battery is used, deactivate the undervoltage recognition.
The programming can be performed very easily via the setup button.
Proceed as follows for programming:
• Switch on the transmitter if you haven't done it already.
• Switch off the speed controller (Move the slider away from the setup button).
• Push and hold the setup button next t o the slider (do not release it). Then switch on the speed controller.
Continue to push and hold the setup button.
• The red LED flashes for a few seconds now at the speed controller. Continue to push and hold the setup button.
Don't release it!
• The red LED stops flashing and the green LED begins to flash (continue to push and hold the setup button. Don't
release it!). The number of flashes of the green LED (1x .....5x) shows which setting function is currently selected:

5 5x short Max. braking strength
The grey values are the factory settings ex works.
• When the desired setting function that you want to change is displayed (e.g. undervoltage protection, green LED
flashes 3x briefly), release the setup button at once.
• Now the red LED flashes again. The number of the flashing signals shows which setting value is active (e.g.
undervoltage protection 3.0 V/cell, red LED flashes 4x briefly).
• Pushing the setup button briefly changes the setting value. The number of flashing signals of the red LED changes
accordingly.
• To leave the setting mode and terminate programming, switch off the speed controller (Move the slider away from
the setup button). If you switch on the speed controller then, the speed controller is ready for operation with the
settings made above.
• If another setting is to be changed, proceed again as described above.
