Description of the setting functions:
• Function #1, green LED, one brief flash: Drive function
In this settings menu the speed controller can be switched between „forwards/brake" and „forwards/brake/reverse"
(reverse driving can be switched off).
• Function #2, green LED, two brief flashes: Motor brake
If you reduce the throttle at the transmitter or move back the throttle/brake lever into the neutral position, the vehicle
will slow down automatically. The effect is thus exactly like that of the motor-braking function in a „real" car when you
release the throttle pedal without stepping on the brake pedal.
This also corresponds to the brake function of a conventional electric motor.
Settable values are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%.
• Function #3, green LED, three brief flashes: Undervoltage protection
If LiPo rechargeable batteries are used, then you must ensure that the low-voltage protection is activated (we
recommend at least 3.0 V per cell).
If the speed controller measures a battery voltage of 6.0 V in a 2-cell LiPo battery (fully charged approx. 8.4 V) and
a deactivation voltage of 3.0 V/cell, the speed controller first reduces the starting output or speed to 50% for 2
seconds. You can then still steer the vehicle to the edge of the route in a race. Then the speed controller switches off
the motor to avoid deep discharge of the LiPo battery.
When using am NiMH- or NiCd-drive battery, deactivate the undervoltage recognition. Alternatively, you can set the
undervoltage recognition to 2.6 V/cell. Deactivation takes place at a battery voltage of 5.2 V then (the speed controller
does not recognise that a NiMH-/NiCd-speed battery is connected, but it calculates the deactivation voltage assuming
that there is a 2-cell LiPo battery).
• Function #4, green LED, four brief flashes: Start mode when driving off
Depending on this setting, the start is performed more or less powerful. Note that the two settings „fast" and „very
fast" require a high-quality rechargeable battery capable of providing the appropriate current during take off. These
settings also should only be used with a loose underground, since gear service life is otherwise reduced (drive
pinion, main cogwheel, differentials).
• Function #5, green LED, five brief flashes: Maximum braking strength
The speed controller unit allows proportional braking strength depending on the setting of the transmitter lever. The
maximum braking power at full lever extension can be adjusted to 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%.
A high setting (e.g. 100%) decreases braking distance but has a negative effect on the lifetime of the gears (drive
pinion gear, main gear and differential gears).
