helmet and riding clothing normally used when riding.
Importance of the right helmet
The brand of helmet you wear does not change how the device fits to your body, but can
noticeably influence head movement, as well as alter the gap between the helmet & BNS.
Some helmets which sit very low at the rear could restrict movement of the head with a
properly fitted BNS. Furthermore, the helmet you wear must be correctly sized. A helmet
which is too small (e.g. one where the bottom of the rider's jaw is not inside or in line with
the helmet shell when fastened) could leave too big a gap rendering the Bionic less effective
and exposing the jaw to injury. A helmet which is too large will reduce head movement as
well as compromise the safety of your head. This is why it is important to fit the support with
the helmet you normally ride with.
The BNS Pro & Tech 2 is designed to provide a highly customizable, secure and personalized
fit. The SAS (size adapter system) provides an adjustable and versatile BNS fit in size ranges
XS-M and L-XL. Interchangeable EVA lycra-laminated foam padding kits (6mm and 10mm)
for rear, front and shoulders allow fine- tuning adjustment of BNS to rider's specific needs.
It also aids compatibility with other body protection systems. Strap System: BNS supplied
with the X Strap System which allows a small, light strap worn over or under the jersey to
secure the device to the rider.
Fitting Procedure
The length of the adapters (13) dictates the size of the BNS. Table 1 below provides a guide
to begin the fitting process. Find your corresponding size on the left of the table then select
the correct adapter (13) size for the BNS on the right depending on how thick or thin (T) your
chest is:
