REASONABLY FORESEEABLE MISUSE

or solvents are present.

The operating company must ensure that personnel who work on the product com-
ply with the regulations and provisions together with the following instructions:
National and regional regulations for safety, accident prevention and environ-

mental protection regulations.
No damaged products are assembled, installed or commissioned.
The necessary protective equipment is provided.
Use the unit only when it is in faultless condition and in good working order.

Make periodic checks to ensure that the operating personnel work in a safe man-
ner and in compliance with the instruction handbook.
Regularly test the safety devices for correct operation.
Do not remove the safety and warning notices; ensure that they are kept in

legible condition.
Persons under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medication that affect their reac-
tion time may not operate the machine or perform maintenance on it.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Adhere to the national and regional regulations on safety and accident prevention.
Select and provide protective work wear, such as foot protection and protective
gloves, that is appropriate for the respective activity and the expected risks.

The XControl is for determining tool lengths and for breakage monitoring in machin-
ing centres or milling machines.

5.2.
INSERTING THE BATTERY

NOTICE! When inserting the battery, do not operate the contact point.
ü XControl is unpacked.
1. Loosen and remove screws.
2. Remove battery compartment cover (4).
3. Insert the battery into the battery compartment.

Observe the polarity of the battery.
4. Place the battery compartment cover (4) onto the housing and align.
5. Insert screws.
6. Tighten screws for battery compartment cover with 1.2 Nm.

Battery is inserted.

CONNECTING XCONTROL + XCONNECT

1. NOTICE! Observe uppercase and lowercase spelling.
2. NOTICE! Settings of CONFIG.TXT file must be configured on a separate
computer.
3. NOTICE! If settings are configured on the machine controller, they will
not be saved.
4. NOTICE! XConnect must be plugged into the same USB port as when
determining the EXTCALL path.
