A malfunction caused by tearing of a fiber at the device can lead to blood loss, infections,
clotting and hemodynamic instability in the patient.

Unless stated otherwise, use 5000 IU heparin to prime the hemoconcentrator.

Consider increasing the anticoagulation if you are performing a hemoconcentration.

Regularly monitor the anticoagulation during and after the hemoconcentration.

Failure to de-air the device completely can cause embolisms in the patient.

Carefully de-air the hemoconcentrator before use.

Avoid excessive pressure.
