13 Troubleshooting
The following overview contains information about possible faults and
measures to rectify these faults.
If faults that are not unambiguously described in these operating instructions
or that cannot be rectified with the described measures occur when using the
machine, do not use the machine and contact the dealer.
13.1
Machine faults
Fault
During initial start-up,
the pump is activated
when the brew button
is pressed but no water
comes out of the brew
group.
The machine does not
heat up during initial
start-up.
The machine is switched
on but will not start oper-
ation.
Abnormal, loud pump
noise.
The machine is switched
on and draws air.
The machine will not heat
up again after water has
been drawn from the hot
water wand.
The machine will not
switch on or off automat-
ically in spite of a timer
being set.

Cause
Insufficient time for filling
the brew boiler.
The boiler overfill protec-
tion has been triggered.
The water tank has not
been installed correctly.
The water filter cartridge
is dry.
The water tank has not
been installed correctly.
The boiler overfill protec-
tion has been triggered.
The circuit board battery
is flat.
Solution
It takes about 30 seconds
for the brew boiler to fill
up and for water to come
out.
Briefly turn the machine
off and then on again.
Install the water tank cor-
rectly (see Chapter 11.5.1,
"Orientation of the water
tank")
Soak the water filter
cartridge sufficiently.
Follow the manufacturer's
specifications for the filter
used.
Insert the water tank cor-
rectly (see Chapter 11.5.1,
"Orientation of the water
tank").
Briefly turn the machine
off and then on again.
Check that there is
enough water in the tank
and refill if necessary (see
Chapter 9.4, "Filling the
water tank with water").
Deactivate the timer
functions (see Chapter
10.4.4, "Timer Enable") and
contact the dealer.
