Putting the machine into operation
9.2.1
Switching the machine on and off
Switching on the machine:
1.
Press the on/off button.
The LED ring lights up and the following information appears on the

display one after the other:
•
The welcome message "MAKE COFFEE YOURS"
•
The software version
•
The quantity of liters used so far, if the filter reminder is set (see
Chapter 10.4.1, "Filter Reminder")
•
The brew temperature and, if activated, the steam temperature.
Switching off the machine:
1.
Press the on/off button.
The LED ring goes out and the display is switched off.

9.2.2
Preparing the machine
1.
Fill the water tank with water (see Chapter 9.4, "Filling the water
tank with water") and insert it into the machine (see Chapter 11.5.1,
"Orientation of the water tank").

Switch on the machine using the on/off button.
The LED ring lights up and the machine will start to heat up. If the
¾
setting "Fast Heating" is activated (see Chapter 10.4.7, "Enable Fast
Heating"), "UP" will appear on the display. Otherwise, the boiler
temperature will be displayed. The heat-up process generally lasts
around 8 - 9 minutes. The machine has finished heating up when the
temperature set via the menu (see Chapter 10.3.1, "Brew Temperature")
or the "Flush" icon appears on the display.

If the "Flush" icon appears on the display, perform a flush (see Chapter
9.8, "Performing a flush").
As soon as the "Ready Go" icon appears on the display, the machine is

ready to prepare espressos.
9.3
Shortcut functions
All machine functions are set via the menu. The following functions can also
be set via shortcuts without having to call up the menu.
