Clean the hot water nozzle (see Chapter 11.3, "Cleaning the steam and
hot water nozzles").
Tip: To draw hot water for several cups one after the other, it is recommended
that you switch off the heated-up machine so that no cold water is pumped
back into the boiler.

Drawing hot steam

WARNING
Risk of injury due to hot surfaces and hot media spraying out
Injuries may occur when drawing steam due to the high temperatures of the
surfaces and media spraying out.
• Only operate the steam wand via the rubber handle.
• Place a suitable receptacle underneath the steam nozzle when draining
condensation.
• Always keep the nozzle of the steam wand fully under the surface of the
liquid to be heated or foamed when drawing steam.
• Keep your face, hands, and other body parts away from the steam
nozzle.
The machine can generate steam to heat or foam liquids, for example milk or
mulled wine.
To be able to draw hot steam, the set steam temperature (see Chapter 10.3.3,
"Steam Temp") must have been reached.
1.
Place an empty receptacle under the steam nozzle.
2.
Open the steam tilt valve (see Chapter 5.2.3, "Brew buttons").
Condensation is drained.

Close the steam tilt valve after approx. 3 seconds, when no more
condensation comes out.
4.
Place the receptacle with the desired liquid under the steam nozzle.
5.
Immerse the steam nozzle fully under the surface of the liquid.
6.
Open the steam tilt valve.
The liquid is heated or foamed.

7.
Close the steam tilt valve and remove the receptacle from the drip tray.
8.
Briefly open the steam tilt valve and close it again.
Steam is let out into the drip tray to prevent the nozzle from becoming

clogged.
9.
Clean the steam nozzle immediately (see Chapter 11.3, "Cleaning the
steam and hot water nozzles").
