1.2. General Information
Performance Features
The Behnke intercom stations of the 20, 40,
50 series and special models with hybrid
basic electronics / SIP basic electronics are
high-quality VoIP or a/b intercom stations
with acoustic echo cancellation for full-duplex
hands-free speech in best voice quality.
The operating elements, such as loudspea-
ker, microphone, keypad and call buttons
are not mounted near the basic electronics.
The electronics are housed in a casing as a
compact unit and are to be mounted only in
the moisture-protected area. The combinable
function modules allow maximum flexibility in
planning and application.
The operating elements are connected via a
junction box (not included with these elect-
ronics) or a special connection cable with a
length of 3m (only 1 key; LS, Mik) is connected
to the corresponding basic electronics
(20-0005-BS, 20-0005B-IP). The maximum
cable length between the basic electronics
and the junction box must not exceed 50m.

The cable length always depends on the
selected cable type (see technical data).
The voice connection is made via Voice over
IP (VoIP) according to the SIP standard over
the connected Ethernet LAN either with the
help of a SIP-capable telephone system, a SIP
provider or via direct dialling of an IP address.
Alternatively, the hybrid intercom station can
be operated as an analogue telephone on an
a/b port. For this, you need a free a/b port
and a power supply via Behnke PoE injector
(20-9596). Configuration as well as software
updates are performed via a web browser
or alternatively via DTMF post-dialling when
operating as a SIP intercom station.
Hybrid intercom stations that are operated
as analogue subscribers and do not have a
network connection are configured via DTMF
post-dialling. Alternatively, the Behnke WiFi of
the intercom station can be used for configu-
ration (only suitable for configuration purpo-
ses, active for 15 min after activation).
If the intercom station has a network connec-
tion and an IP address, the configuration can
also be done via web browser.
Power is supplied via the LAN using PoE (for
operation on a/b port for PoE supply, observe
installation diagram page 75), also when
operated as analogue intercom station. The
intercom stations have two relays with freely
configurable floating switching outputs for
door opening, call indication or other swit-
ching functions. Expansion modules enable
the retrofitting of additional functions, such
as up to 75 direct call buttons, radar motion
