muter traffi c. Low-maintenance closed

• 'Comfortable & Sporty': suitable for
longer distances or cycling holidays.

and components, sporty gear groups
with at least 9 gears and top Batavus

This service booklet will enable you to
get even more enjoyment out of your
bicycle. It contains clear drawings and
practical instructions. It is important
that you take the time to read the
booklet carefully and then to keep it
within arm's reach for use in the future.
In the fi rst instance, please approach
your Batavus dealer if you have any
questions and/or complaints.

GETTING ACQUAINTED
Your Batavus dealer has prepared your
bicycle for your use with a great deal
of care. You will, of course, already be
familiar with the scenario for 'handing
over': useful tips for the user, adjust-
ment of the handlebars and saddle
height, the signing of the Certifi cate
of Ownership and perhaps an appoint-
ment for the fi rst service.
The adventure can begin and, fi rst of
all, this means getting acquainted with
your bicycle. Take the time to expe-
rience what the brakes and gears have
got going for them and whether the
handlebars and saddle have been cor-
rectly adjusted.

• When you pick up your Batavus
bicycle all the components described
in this booklet will have been pro-
perly adjusted in accordance with your
requirements. Any components to be
delivered separately (basket, bag, pe-
dals, bell) will also have been fi tted by
your Batavus dealer.
• Some components must be adjusted
again after a time. It is best to have this
carried out by your Batavus dealer.
• However, for those who want, and
are able, to make these adjustments
themselves, this booklet will be an im-
portant aid. Having said that, we advise
that you always consult your Batavus
dealer before doing so. He is not only
the supplier of your bicycle, but also a
specialist who can advise you on such
matters.
• Check whether there are any tips
and/or recommendations in the service
booklet before you start work on your
bicycle. These manufacturer's recom-
mendations must always be followed.
• The tips and recommendations in this
booklet will increase your safety and
improve the cycling comfort of your
bicycle. Batavus can, however, not rule
out the possibility of damage, even if
they are meticulously followed. You
can therefore not derive any rights
from this booklet (with the excep-
tion of the guarantee provided in it).
Batavus is not liable for any damages,
unless mandatory statutory provisions
provide otherwise.
• If activities carried out on your bicycle
fall under the guarantee given by
Batavus, the materials concerned will
be reimbursed or made available in
accordance with the conditions of the
guarantee. The labour costs for as-
sembling the components are for your
own account, with the exception of the
costs of assembling frames and/or front
forks within the fi rst 3 years of the
purchase of a new bicycle.
