5 SAFETY REGULATIONS
Prevention of other residual risks
General risks
Connect up the utilities to the unit following the indications set out in this manual and on the panelling of the unit itself.
• If a part needs to be dismantled:
-
sure it is correctly re-assembled;
-
start the unit.
Keep all lubricants in suitably marked containers.
The machinery must be installed in structures protected against atmospheric discharge according to the applicable laws and technical.
It is not permitted to walk or rest other objects on the machines.
The structure of the unit is not designed to withstand the stresses (accelerations) caused by an earthquake.
• Any shut-off taps of the cooling circuit must be fully open. This check should be carried out before the first start-up and after each maintenance
activity.
Unless arranged otherwise with MEHITS, the machine be installed in environments where there is no risk of explosion (SAFE AREA).
Risks associated with refrigerant gases and fluids
The unit contains pressurized refrigerant gas.
• No operations must be carried out on pressurised equipment. All work on pressurised equipment must be carried out by qualified and certified
personnel.
If the unit is equipped with overpressure release devices (safety valves), when these devices are activated the refrigerant gas is released at high
temperature/speed. It is therefore necessary:
-
Prevent the jet of gas released from injuring people or damaging property.
-
If necessary, channel the discharges appropriately, according to the provisions of the EN378-3 standard and the current local regulations in
force.
-
All flammable refrigerants must be storaged and discharged in safe areas.
• Do not bend or hit pipes containing pressurised fluids.
Installation, use and maintenance manual - Original instructions
The water circuit contains harmful and bio-hazardous substances.
Do not drink from the hydraulic circuit and make sure the material contained in it does not touch your skin, eyes or
clothing.
Do not release harmful substances into the environment.
High concentrations of refrigerant gas can have an anaesthetic effect and cause to lose consciousness. Prolonged
exposure may cause irregular heartbeat and sudden death. High concentrations of refrigerant can reduce the amount
of oxygen in the air, causing suffocation. Operate in an adequately ventilated environment.
Contact with refrigerant gas
Contact with refrigerant gas can cause burns, abrasions or damage to other organs. Wear appropriate personal
protective equipment (protective overalls and gloves).
