8 LINKS AND CONNECTIONS
It is important that there is no air in the water circuit and no sudden variations in pressure or any points below atmospheric pressure. There must not be
any sudden variations in the flow of water. When the machine is running, there must not be variations in the water flow rate of more than 10 % a minute
of the rated flow rate. For this reason it is advisable to install an independent pump unit for each single evaporator with a circuit separate from the rest
of the system.
For the production of domestic water it is recommended to install an intermediate exchanger to prevent dirt, corrosion and pollution of the water from any
oxides. The minimum and maximum water flow rate specified in our databook cannot be used as nominal flow rate of the unit. The water flow rate must
always be as stated in the selection of the operating conditions of the unit.
The directions for installation set out above represent a necessary condition for the validity of the warranty. However, MEHITS is willing to examine any
different needs, which must in any case be approved before the refrigeration system is started up.
It is recommended to carry out a periodic review of the correct operation of the components that contribute to the safety of the machine and system. It is
therefore necessary:
• to check the cleanliness of the filters;
• to check the operation of the flow switches installed;
• to check that the antifreeze heaters applied to the heat exchanger remain powered during downtime (unit OFF).
The water flow rate to the heat pump must comply with the values given in the "General Technical Data" (refer to data book).
The water content of the system must be such as to avoid imbalances in the operation of the cooling circuits.

It is also important to:
• Check the position of the water connection with the stickers attached to the unit. Make a crosscheck with the dimensional drawing and hydraulic circuit
drawing delivered with the unit. Do not mix the water inlet and outlet.
• The hydraulic circuit must be insulated.
• Only use closed hydraulic circuits (unless otherwise agreed).
• Make sure that the hydraulic circuit is free of debris and clean before filling it and starting the pumps.
• Check the hydraulic circuit and connections for tightness.
• Refer to separated installation instructions for supplied loose accessories.
Condensate discharge
Units in heating mode produce a considerable amount of condensation water. In cold areas, do not use a drainage pipe with the external unit. Otherwise,
the discharge water may freeze and block the drain.
If a drainage pipe must be used, follow the instructions below:
• Attach the plastic fitting provided to the hole in the base of the unit (plug unused holes with the plug provided).
• Connect the drainage pipe (Ø16mm), not supplied, to the plastic fitting.
• Make sure that the discharge pipe is at a gradient of at least 2 cm/m, without obstructions or bottlenecks.
• Connect the condensation drain to a rainwater drain system. Do not use washing or sewage water drains as this may cause unpleasant odours if the
water in the syphon evaporates.
• When done, check that the condensate drains correctly by pouring some water into the drip tray.
• If necessary, provide adequate insulation of the condensate discharge pipe.
• The disposal of condensate must not cause problems to property or persons.
• In the case of outdoor installation if the temperature is below 0°C, the water may freeze. It is recommended to install heating cables in order to prevent
freezing of the drainage system.
• For installations where the rapid evacuation of defrosting water may be impaired (e.g. due to dirt, ducting, particularly unfavourable climatic conditions),
the installation of the basic heater kit (optional) is recommended.
