6 HANDLING AND POSITIONING
EN

Before installation

Before installing the unit, agree with the customer on the location where it is to be placed, paying attention to the following points:
• The support surface must be able to bear the weight of the unit;
• The safety distances between the units and other equipment or structures must be scrupulously observed so that the air entering and
leaving the fans is free to circulate.
• Follow the information in the dimensional drawings (refer to the chapter "Dimensional Drawings" and the data book).
• The unit is designed to be installed outdoors.
• Although the noise level produced by the unit during operation is limited, avoid installation in places where even low noise levels may
cause annoyance (bedroom windows, terraces).
• Choose a location where the hot air discharged by the unit will not cause a disturbance.
• The unit must not be used in potentially explosive atmospheres.
• The place of installation must be away from nearby spaces where flammable gases can escape.
• In coastal areas or other locations exposed to brine, corrosion can affect the life of the unit. Avoid direct exposure to wind from the sea.
For positioning
• Install the vibration-damping feet (accessory):
• To reduce vibrations to the supporting structures, assemble vibration dampers at each fastening point indicated in the dimensional
drawing. The vibration damper kit supplied by MEHITS as accessory ensures a high level of insulation and minimum inclination of the
machine on the horizontal plane.
• When installing vibration dampers not supplied by MEHITS, pay attention to the vibration dampening properties and the inclination of
the machine.
• Install the vibration dampers under the base, lifting the unit no more than 200 mm off the ground.
Avoid placing parts of the body under the unit.
• Check the unit's support points and their weight before positioning.
• Check that the unit is sitting level, level the unit by adjusting the height of the support feet.
• Use flexible couplings for hydraulic connections.
• Ensure easy access to the hydraulic and electrical part.
• When installing in locations where gusts of wind may occur, properly secure the unit to the support using tie rods if necessary.
• Units in heating mode produce a considerable amount of condensation water which must be properly drained. The disposal of
condensate must not cause problems to property or persons.
• If the outside air temperature is below 0°C, the condensate water may freeze, so provide an antifreeze heater to be installed
on the discharge pipe.
Install the external unit ensuring that the finned coil and fans are clean. Therefore, avoid installing the unit near shrubs or bushes
which could affect the correct operation of the unit with falling foliage.
