Risk of freezing
In the case of external air temperatures close to 0°C, the risk of the unit freezing must be prevented.
We recommend to:
• use antifreeze in the required percentages.
• protect pipes with heating cables, which must be kept away from devices, sensors and materials that may be damaged or whose operation could be
impaired (for example, temperature probes, plastic components and power cables).
• drain the system and check that there is no water pooling at the lowest points of the system or closed taps where water can be trapped.
It is recommended to use non-toxic antifreeze for food use. The antifreeze used must be inhibited, non-corrosive, and compatible with the components
of the hydraulic circuit.
Ethylene glycol solutions
Solutions of water and ethylene glycol used as heat transfer
fluid instead of water cause a decrease in unit performance.
Multiply the performance data by the values given in the
table below.
For heat pumps a suitable charging/reintegration
system must be provided that connects on the return line
and a drain cock at the lowest part of the system.
Systems with antifreeze or special legislative provisions
require the use of water disconnectors.

When managing antifreeze solutions, please make sure to respect the local regulations.
Please refer to the data book for specific information about the type of glycole and minimum and maximum
concentration.
