8 LINKS AND CONNECTIONS
In the case of service fluids other than water (e.g. ethylene or propylene glycol), it is advisable to always use fluids containing special inhibitors that offer
thermal stability within the operating temperature ranges and protection against corrosion phenomena. It is necessary to regularly check the concentration
of these fluids and the inhibitors in the circuit: the first check must be carried out within 2 months after charging. After the first check, follow the indications
of their manufacturers.
It is absolutely essential that in case of dirty and/or aggressive vector fluids an intermediate exchanger is placed upstream the refrigeration system heat
exchangers (this is often the case with well, lake or sea water).
Before starting to load the hydraulic circuit, make sure that the machine drain taps are closed (the machine is shipped with open taps), open all the vent
valves and open the shut-off devices of the entire water system. Start filling by slowly opening the loading tap. When fluid begins to flow out of the vent
valves, close them and continue loading in order to pressurise the water circuit of the machine so that a pressure of at least 1.5 bar is guaranteed at the
pump suction during operation.
The presence of air in the hydraulic circuit reduces the performance and can cause serious malfunctions and even defects, in particular to the pumping
system and to the heat exchangers. All the air must be released out of the air bleed valves of the unit and system and not allowed to enter again when
setting up the hydraulic connection of the unit.
If the unit is to be put in storage for a long time, it is advisable to dry the heat exchangers and pressurise them with nitrogen to prevent humidity from
lingering in the hydraulic circuit.
Parts
The following parts are recommended for correct installation of the unit:
• Two pressure gauges with a suitable range (on inlet and outlet).
• Two anti-vibration joints (on inlet and outlet).
• Shut-off valves (on inlet and outlet).
• Two thermometers (on inlet and outlet).
• Filter on the return to the unit, supplied as standard (mandatory), as close to the unit as possible and in an easily accessible position for routine
maintenance.
• All the pipes must be insulated with suitable material to prevent condensation and heat loss.
The insulating material must be of the vapour barrier type. Make sure that all regulating and shut-off parts protrude from the insulation thickness.
• At the lowest points of the system, install discharge valves to allow easy drainage.
• At the highest points of the system, install automatic or manual air vent valves.
• The unit is equipped as standard with an expansion vessel (configuration with integrated hydronic unit) it is essential to check whether it is correctly

sized for the system's water content and expected operating temperatures, otherwise install an additional expansion vessel.
• The connection pipes must be suitably supported so that they do not weigh down on the appliance.
