10. Starting up the model boat

a) Charging the drive battery
Important:
The drive battery must be charged using the included charger. The charger does not turn off automatically,
therefore you must unplug it as soon as the battery has finished charging.
For photographic reasons, the charging cable is shown in wound condition at the top of Figure 5. Before
first use, remove the cable tie and fully unwind the charging cable.
Plug the charger (1) into a proper mains socket.
Connect the reverse polarity protected connector (2) of the
drive battery (3) to the reverse polarity protected connector
(4) of the charger.
The retaining clip of the charging cable connector (5) must
snap into the lug of the battery connector (6).
The charging process begins as soon as the rechargeable
battery is connected to the charger. Time the charging pro-
cess using a timer.
Charging does not stop automatically when the battery is
fully charged.
When the battery is fully charged, you must disconnect it
manually from the charger. To do this, press the retaining
clip on the charging cable connector (see arrow in the fig-
ure below) to unlock the connector.
The rechargeable battery should be warm to the touch
when it is fully charged. It takes approx. 4 hours to fully
charge an empty battery. Do not allow the battery to
charge for more than 4 hours.
The battery will take less time to charge if it is
not fully discharged.
