10. Starting up the model boat

a) Recharging the drive battery
Please refer to section 7.
Connect the charger to a properly grounded mains socket of the public supply grid using the included power cord. The
three charger LEDs will now light up.
Disconnect the drive battery from the model boat, if you have not already done so. Then take the drive battery out of
the model boat.
Important:
The drive battery must not be connected to the model boat's speed controller while it is charging. This can
damage the speed controller and interrupt the charging process!
Connect the 4-pin XH connector (1) of the drive battery to
the matching 4-pin socket on the charger. Do not use force
when connecting.
Charging begins. Different colours of the LEDs indicate
the charging process separately for each of the 3 cells of
the LiPo drive battery:
LED lights up red = charging is in progress
LED lights up green = cell is fully charged
It takes about 3 hours to charge a fully empty battery.
If all 3 cells of the drive battery are fully charged and all
LEDs light up green, the charging process is complete.
Then disconnect the drive battery from the charger and unplug the charger from the mains socket.
The LiPo drive battery can also be charged with another matching LiPo charger. However, it must have a
balancer for monitoring and, if necessary, adjustment of voltages of individual cells. Observe the operating
instructions for the LiPo charger used. If in doubt, only use the included charger.
Warning!
Only use a matching LiPo charger to charge the LiPo drive battery. Never attempt to charge the LiPo drive
battery with other or non-matching charger! This may cause a fire or explosion! Do not leave the drive bat-
tery unattended while it is charging.
