Intended use

The supplementary equipment set 1 687 205 016 con-
tains adapters (mechanical connectors and electrical
adapter cables) intended for connecting and testing
with the EPS 200 / EPS 205 for the following passen-
ger car common rail injectors:

Delphi solenoid injectors
R
Denso solenoid injectors
R
Siemens / VDO / Continental piezo injectors

For testing Siemens / VDO / Continental piezo in-
jectors on the EPS 200, the base set 1 687 010 397
and the extension set 1 687 010 393 are also
required. Both supplementary equipment sets must
be installed and commissioned in the EPS 200.

Solenoid injectors will be referred to as CRI and
piezo injectors as piezo CRI in the following.
The supplementary equipment set 1 687 205 016
supplements the existing 1 687 010 399 accessory set
(accessory set for non-Bosch injectors with a solenoid
actuator) and the accessory set 1 687 010 400 (acces-
sory set for non-Bosch injectors with a piezo actuator).

Test sequences (test values)

The test sequences with setpoints and tolerances for
Delphi CRIs, Denso CRIs and Siemens / VDO / Conti-
nental piezo CRIs are not included in the extension set
1 687 205 016.
The EPS 200 / EPS 205 database contains sample test
sequences for testing Delphi CRI and Denso CRI (Delphi:
EJBRxxxxxx; Denso: 095000xxx...). These sample test
sequences contain test steps predefined by Robert
Bosch GmbH without setpoints and tolerances for the
injection and return quantities. This information must
be determined by the user or taken from data sheets
and added to the test steps. How to call up and
edit a test sequence is described in the online help
EPS 200 / EPS 205.

Testing of Delphi CRIs and Denso CRIs is identical
to testing Bosch CRIs and may differ from the spec-
ifications of the third-party manufacturer.

Denso sample test sequences have a resistance val-
ue at the end of the type-part code (e.g. 095000xxx
_>1Ohm). That resistance value indicates the coil
resistance of a new injector. For creating the test
sequence, select the sample test sequence match-
ing the coil resistance of the injector.
As an alternative to the sample test sequences, it is
possible to use test sequences with setpoints and
tolerances by the information provider Refdat from

The information provider is responsible for the
accuracy of the test values. Robert Bosch GmbH
will not accept any liability for the test sequence
and data.

Requirements

The following requirements must be met for using the
extension set 1 687 205 016:

Accessory set for non-Bosch injectors
1 687 010 399.

Accessory set for non-Bosch piezo injectors
1 687 010 400.
R
Only test cleaned and complete injectors.
R
Do not clamp injectors for testing if they are dam-
aged and / or severely corroded.
