• Machine operation, selection and setting of guards
• The safety mechanisms on the machine may not be removed or rendered useless.
• When working on the machine, all safety devices and guards for the corresponding moulding task must
be fitted to the machine.
• After every repair or service work, all guards and safety devices must be refitted immediately.
• Moulding on the fence, when a full workpiece length is to be milled
• Milling the longitudinal and the cross side (see page 23)
• Use the moulding fence, safety pressure device, or the automatic feeder (optional equipment).
• Moulding curves
• For moulding curves, use the curved moulding fence.
• Diagonal moulding
• During diagonal moulding, make sure the workpiece rests on a stable base.
• Use a template in addition to the fence.
• Insert moulding (see page 24)
• Use the moulding fence and safety pressure device.
• Use the table length extension with cross stop.
• With smaller workpieces we recommend the use of a clamping device.
• Slot and shank milling work (see page 24)
• For slot and shank milling work, sliding table carriage with grooving guard, clamping device and the
moulding fence with guard must be fitted to ensure safe workpiece guiding.

Use only as authorized

• The spindle moulder has been designed to be used exclusively with tool and accessories for wood
working.
• The machine meets the valid EC machine guideline. It has been designed for one-shift operation,
operating mode S 6 = 40 %.
• Observe all safety instructions and warnings attached to the machine and keep them in legible condition.
• Before starting to work, the machine must be connected to a dust extractor unit with a flexible, fire-
protected suction hose.
• The automatic switching unit is available as an optional accessory:
Model ALV 2, Order no. 7910 4010 230 V / 50 Hz
Model ALV 10, Order no. 7910 4020 400 / 230 V / 50 Hz
• The dust extractor automatically switches on after a 2 to 3 second delay after the spindle moulder is turned
on. This avoids overloading the circuit fuse.
• After turning off the spindle moulder, the dust extractor remains on for an additional 3 to 4 seconds and is
then automatically switched off.
• Remaining dust is thereby removed by vacuum exhaust, as required by regulations governing hazardous
materials. This results in savings in electricity consumption and reduces noise levels, as the dust extractor
is only on during spindle moulder operation.
• For work in commercial spaces, a powerful vacuum exhaust unit must be used.
• Do not remove or shut off the exhauster systems while the spindle moulder is running.
• Only one operator is allowed to work on the machine at a time.
• The machine must only be used in technically perfect condition in accordance with its designated use and
the instructions set out in the operating manual, and only by safety-conscious persons.
• Any functional disorders, especially those affecting the safety of the machine, should therefore be rectified
immediately.
• The safety, work and maintenance instructions of the manufacturer as well as the dimensions given in the
technical data must be adhered to.
• Relevant accident prevention regulations and other, generally recognized safety-technical rules must also
be adhered to.
• The machine may only be used, maintained, and operated by persons familiar with it and instructed in its
operation and the emanating risks.
• Arbitrary alterations to the machine release the manufacturer from all responsibility for any resulting dam-
ages.
• The machine may only be used with original accessories and original tools supplied by the manufacturer.
