General notes

When unpacking, carefully check the complete machine for an eventual transport damage. In case of a claim,
the carrier must be informed immediately.
• Objections received at a later date cannot be recognized.
• Check the contents for any missing parts.
• Only use original SCHEPPACH wearing or spare parts. Your SCHEPPACH dealer has them available.
• Indicate on your order our order numbers as well as model and construction year of your machine.
• In these operating instructions we have marked the places that have to do with your safety with this sign.

Safety instructions

• Check all power supply lines. Do not use defective lines - see "Electrical connection".
• Keep children away from the machine when it is connected to the power supply.
• Operating personnel must be at least 18 years of age. Trainees must be at least 16 years of age, but may
only operate the machine under adult supervision.
• Persons working on the machine may not be diverted from their work.
• The working space on the machine must be free of chips and wood scrap.
• Wear only close-fitting clothes. Remove rings, bracelets, watches and other jewelry.
• The electrical equipment may only be installed, repaired and serviced by a qualified electrician.
• Switch the machine off and pull the power supply plug before servicing or rectifying any malfunctions.
• Connect the machine to a dust extractor for sucking off wood chips and dust.
• When leaving the work place, switch the motor off and pull the power supply plug.
• Cut off the external power supply of the machine even if only minor changes of place are envisaged.
Properly reconnect the machine to the supply mains before recommissioning.
• Dispose of the machine according to the local environmental regulations.
• Training of the operators
• Before working on the machine, carefully study these operating instructions.
• Pass on safety notes and instructions to all those who work on the machine.
• Observe all safety instructions and warnings attached to the machine.
• See to it that safety instructions and warnings attached to the machine are always complete and per-
fectly legible.
• Caution when working: There is a danger to fingers and hands emanating from the rotating cutting tool.
• Make sure that the machine stands stable on firm ground.
• Preparing and setting the machine
• Only use fault-free, well sharpened and nick-free cutters.
• Adjust the table opening to the workpiece diameter with insert rings (spacing collars).
• Immediately replace any defective tools (showing cracks etc.) - see "Changing the tools".
• Only use tools corresponding with the European Standard EN 847-1.
• Only use tools permitted for manual feed. When working with automatic feeder oder sliding table car-
riage, tools for partially mechanical feed are permitted.
• When mounting the tool, observe the recommendations of the manufacturer.
• Cleaning, changing, calibrating and setting of the machine may only be carried out when the motor is
switched off. Pull the power supply plug and wait for the rotating tool to completely stop.
• When working on the machine, all safety mechanisms and covers must be mounted.
• Before using the fielding cutter, remove the spindle collar from the bench top.
• Workpiece guidance
• For all moulding work, use the devices for safe workpiece guidance.
• Use a push stick for supporting the manual feed, or an automatic feeder (optional equipment).
• With shorter workpieces, bridge the opening between the fence halves in order to guarantee continuous
workpiece guidance.
• For handling longer workpieces, use the SCHEPPACH table length extension or roller stands (optional
equipment).

• Note that climb or cut-down milling is not permitted.
• Start working only when the tool has reached its full speed.
• Observe the motor and tool rotational direction - see "Electrical connection".
• Selection of rpm
• The highest rotational speed indicated on the milling tool may not be exceeded or fallen short of.
Choose the correct rpm according to the rpm schedule on the machine.
• The maximum tool speed is 8200 rpm.
