4 Recommended unit setting
4.1 For APC 300 in combination with a ICC 200,
300 or 350
•
ICC 200: Argon Mode: 10 – 40 W
•
ICC 300: Spray Coag: 10 – 40 W
•
ICC 350: Spray Coag: 10 – 40 W
•
APC 300: Argon flow is preset by instrument recognition.
4.2 For APC 2 in combination with a VIO HF
surgical unit
After connecting to the APC 2 the instrument is recognized au-
tomatically and the instrument-specific display appears with the
basic settings for operating modes CUT and COAG on the VIO
HF surgical unit.
If custom settings for operating parameters Mode, Effect, Rated
Power, and/or Argon Flow were stored on the program, they
will be displayed. Check the display on the VIO HF surgical unit
to make sure the instrument is being detected.
5 Ignition test
If the APC-applicators are stored for a longer period of time, it
is possible that the first ignition of the plasma is more or less de-
layed. For this reason, carry out an ignition test before applica-
tion of the Argon Plasma Coagulation. To do this, use a
relatively large, metallic object. It must be sterile and have no
electrically conductive contact to the patient, to other persons
or to electronic units.
