Heating bath and lift


You can fi ll the heating bath with various heating bath fl uids:
▪
Tap water (no deionized or distilled water)
▪ Water soluble polyethylene glycol
▪
Oil with low viscosity (40 cP) and fl ashpoint > 285°C.
The marks inside heating the bath show the minimum and maximum level for heating
bath fl uid with evaporating fl ask completely immersed.
Evaporating fl ask is immersed by moving up and down via the heating bath lift.
Immerse fl ask: Hand lift
➜ Push down hand lift lever.
➜ Move pushed hand lift lever to the left
to lower or to the right to raise lift.
➜ Release hand lift at the desired
position.
✓ The hand lift locks into place.
Immerse fl ask: Motor lift
✓ Unit is switched on.
➜ Push lift key down
motor lift.
➜ Release lift key at desired position.
✓ The motor lift stops.

Heating bath fl uid oil with a fl ashpoint < 285 °C might ignite and lead
to uncontrollable thermic reactions and explosion./
Chauffer avec un bain chauffant de l'huile ou un liquide avec un point
d'infl ammation < 285 °C est dangereux car il pourrait s'enfl ammer
avec des températures élevées et conduire à des réactions thermiques

➜ Only use > 285 °C fl ashpoint oils./

When heating bath lift is moved downwards the evaporating fl ask
displaces already fi lled in fl uid.
To prevent heating bath from overfl ow:
▪ Move down the lift with evaporating fl ask mounted before fi lling bath.
▪ Fill in heating bath fl uid till the maximum level mark is reached.
Do not let the evaporating fl ask touch the bottom or the edge of the
heating bath.
