10 Re-use / disposal

10.1 Information on re-use

CAUTION
Hazards due to improper use. Seat padding that comes directly into contact with the skin can cause
functional and hygienic risks if the product is used by another person. They must be replaced prior to
re-use.
The wheelchairs for active use in the Avantgarde series are suitable for re-use.
Similar to second-hand machines or vehicles, products that are being re-used are subject to
increased strain. Features and functions must not change in a way that could endanger users
or other persons within the product's lifespan.
In cases of re-use, the corresponding product must first be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected.
Then the product must be examined by an authorised specialist to check the condition and to
look for wear and possible damage. Any worn and damaged components as well as compo-
nents which do not fit or are not suitable for the user must be replaced.
The service manual includes a service schedule, detailed information, and a list of the required
tools.

10.2 Disposal information

In case of disposal, all components of the product must be disposed of in accordance with the
respective national environmental laws.
