Safety instructions
Hazards due to fire / heat and cold
CAUTION
Risk of burns in the proximity of fire. The seat and back upholstery are flammable. Keep away from
all sources of ignition, especially lit cigarettes.
CAUTION
Caution in case of extreme temperatures. The wheelchair can heat up significantly when in the sun
or in the sauna. In extreme cold, there is a risk of hypothermia.
Risk of hand injuries
CAUTION
Risk of hand injuries. To avoid hand injuries, do not reach between the rear wheel and the knee lever
wheel lock when operating the wheelchair.
CAUTION
Risk of pinching between wheelchair components. The wheel lock lever and the side panel or frame
part can represent a risk of crushing with various adjustment options.
CAUTION
Risk of friction burns. When braking at high speeds or on longer downward slopes, the fingers may heat
up slightly, particularly when using light metal push rings. When using your wheelchair outdoors, wear
leather gloves. Gloves provide you with a better grip and protect your fingers from dirt and hot metal.
Warnings regarding wheelchair damage
NOTE
Damage due to overloading. The maximum load capacity for the Avantgarde wheelchair for active
use is 180 kg.
NOTE
Damage caused by objects lying upon the wheelchair. When devices are transported while folded,
the weight of supported items can lead to deformation and subsequent problems while unfolding. Ne-
ver place heavy items on a folded rehabilitation device.
NOTE
Damage due to wear and tear. If the seat and back upholstery becomes damaged, please replace
it immediately.
NOTE
Damage caused by incorrect packaging. Only use original packaging for shipment of the product.
