Safety instructions
CAUTION
Risk of accident due to incorrect use of the wheel lock. All wheel locks that act on the tyres are not
intended for use during operation but only for parking. The wheel locks must not be used as driving
brakes for slowing down the wheelchair. Abruptly stopping the wheelchair can lead to falls in extreme
cases.
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to rolling away. Engage the wheel locks to prevent the wheelchair from moving
on uneven ground or during transfers (e.g. into a car).
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to operation in the dark. In the dark, wear light clothing or clothing with reflec-
tors in order to improve your visibility. Ensure that the reflectors installed on the sides and rear of the
wheelchair are easily visible. We also recommend installing active illumination.
CAUTION
Risk of tipping on slopes. When negotiating slopes, do not drive without braking and reduce your speed.
CAUTION
Risk of pinching between certain components. Avoid reaching into the pinching area
• between the side panel and back rest when folding the back rest;
• at the wheel lock lever in the side panel; and
• between the brake block and rear wheel.
CAUTION
Risk of falling due to lack of tipping resistance on public transport
• Always observe currently applicable legal requirements when using public transport.
• Always ensure that you are held in place securely when travelling on public transport. To do so, use
the wheelchair areas, wheelchair bays and restraint systems provided. Firmly tighten the wheel locks.
• Please note that the anti-tipper, if activated, may be exposed to heavy loads when the public transport
vehicle starts to move. In order to avoid damage, the manufacturer recommends that the wheelchair
is positioned at a right angle to the direction of travel if no restraint system for passengers with re-
duced mobility is available.
Hazards due to assembly/adjustment errors
CAUTION
Risk of tipping due to incorrectly set wheels. Extreme settings (e.g. rear wheels mounted in the fore-
most position) combined with an unfavourable body posture can cause the wheelchair to tip even on
level ground. Avoid any extreme settings. For transfemoral amputees, the rear wheels must be shifted
backwards. Use of an anti-tipper is required.
CAUTION
Risk of tipping due to a missing or incorrectly mounted anti-tipper. Under no conditions should the
anti-tipper assume the function of transport wheels, for example to transport a person in the wheelchair
with the rear wheels removed. Ensure that the anti-tipper audibly engages before subjecting it to loads.
Proper engagement must be checked by the user or an accompanying person.
