CAUTION
Risk of tipping due to modified wheel diameters / installation positions. If the size
and position of the casters or the rear wheel size are modified, the casters may flutter when driving at
higher speeds. This can lead to blocking of the casters and cause the wheelchair to tip over. For this
reason, you should always maintain the factory settings or, if modifications are required, ensure that
the wheelchair frame is aligned horizontally (see section "Adjustment/assembly instructions").
CAUTION
Risk of falling as a result of unintentional loosening of the rear wheels. Always make sure that the
quick-release axles are correctly adjusted at the rear wheels. It must not be possible to remove the
rear wheel unless the button on the quick-release axle is pushed.
CAUTION
Risk of pinching, crushing, and falling due to unsecured screw connections.
• After all adjusting/readjusting work, retighten the mounting screws/nuts firmly. Observe any torque
settings which may be specified.
• Any time you loosen a screw connection with thread lock, replace it with a new screw connection or
secure the old screw connection with medium strength thread locker (e.g. Loctite® 241).
CAUTION
Risk of falling due to missing self-locking nuts.
Always replace self-locking nuts with new self-locking nuts after disassembly.
Hazards due to incorrect tyre use
CAUTION
Risk of accident due to insufficient or excessive tyre pressure. The effectiveness of the knee lever
wheel lock and the overall driving quality are dependent on adequate air pressure. The knee lever wheel
locks are only effective with sufficient air pressure and if they are adjusted properly (spacing approx.
5 mm, technical changes reserved).
Before starting to use your wheelchair, check that the tyres are inflated correctly. The required air pres-
sure is printed on the side of the tyre. For rear wheels, it should be at least 3.5 bar. Properly inflated
rear wheel tyres and equal air pressure in both tyres considerably improve the manoeuvrability of your
wheelchair.
CAUTION
Risk of accidents due to bad tyres. Insufficient tread depth reduces tyre grip. Please note that when
you operate your wheelchair in public road traffic, you are subject to road traffic regulations.
Risk of skin damage
CAUTION
Exercise caution in case of broken skin. Using the wheelchair if skin is not intact may lead to medically
indicated complications such as skin reddening or pressure points. Since the skin may be subjected
to pressure for several hours, especially in the area of the buttocks, back and rear of the thighs, these
areas must be carefully examined before using the wheelchair.
No liability will be assumed for health injuries caused by use of this wheelchair with damaged skin.
