10.4 DEVICE MAINTENANCE

Important:
Do not use an abrasive product to clean the device.
Do not allow cleaning/disinfecting spray to penetrate inside the device.
The device, the "Implant" micromotor, the bracket and the footswitch are not sterilizable.
Unplug the main unit from power source before cleaning or disinfecting. Do not use directly liquids and
sprays. Never immerse the unit or its parts in liquid.
External surface of the console may be cleaned with a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe. The housing is not
waterproof. Do not use ultrasonic or steam sterilizers.

™ control unit, the control footswitch and the bracket must always be cleaned and disinfected after

each procedure using alcohol, disinfectant agents or disinfectant wipes for dental practices.

10.5 MICROMOTOR AND CORD
Do not lubricate the micromotor. Do not attempt to disassemble the micromotor from its cord and its
connector. The saline solution corrodes all the metal parts. Immediately remove residue.
External surface of the micromotor may be cleaned with a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe. Sterilize the
"Implant ster" micromotor with a steam sterilizer. Do not place micromotor in ultrasonic sterilizers or submerge
it in any solutions.

Micromotor may be cleaned with a damp cloth or disinfectant wipe.
b. Sterilization of the "Implant Ster" micromotor only
- Autoclave: Class B.
Sterilization
temperature: 134°C (273°F)//2.1-2.2 bars.

at sterilization temperature: 5 minutes

When treating patients who may have an acute, critical infectious disease, be sure to observe the
hygienic measures cited in applicable publications and reports. If possible, use suitable disposable
products to avoid the transmission of critical pathogens. These protect the user, the patient and all
participants in the surgery. A microbiologically appropriate coolant liquid must be used. Only use
prescribed isotonic saline solution NaCl 0.9 (identified as an infusion solution; follow the instructions
on the package insert) for cooling and spraying wounds.
autoclaves draw a pre-vacuum. Please refer to your autoclave manufacturer for specific sterilization
instructions.
XI – MONITORING / PREVENTIVE AND CORRECTIVE MAINTENANCE
Important:
In the case of a fault, you are advised to contact the supplier of your device. Do not use
unauthorized repairers, who might make your device dangerous for you and your patients.

11.1 MONITORING

Regular monitoring of the device and its accessories is necessary in order to detect any insulation fault or
damage. Replace, if necessary.
It is important to keep the control unit ventilation vents clean in order to avoid abnormal heating.
