Adjustment of the horizontality of the trace
1. Loosen screws [20] & [22] on the rear of the instrument but do not remove them.
2. Insert the tip of a flat screwdriver into the hole [21], turn the cathode ray tube using the
screwdriver until the trace is parallel to the horizontal lines of the graticule in order to compensate
for the earth's magnetic field.
3. Tighten screws [20] & [22] on the rear of the instrument.

Display of the calibration signal
1. Check the "initial position of the controls" as described in § 5.1.1.
2. Connect calibration signal [5] to the Y input [9] using a 1:1 probe (if the probe has a ratio of
1:10, set [8] to 10mV).
3. If the display is unstable, adjust the level [14] this will give you one of the displays shown in figure 3.

Probe compensation adjustment
This adjustment is necessary in order to precisely adapt the impedance characteristics of the probe
used to match those of the oscilloscope.
1. Perform the procedure for "Display of the calibration signal" described above.
2. Observe the signal on the screen and adjust the LF compensation on the probe using a
screwdriver in order to achieve the "probe compensated" result shown in figure 3.

Input of the signal to be observed on coaxial BNC socket.
Selection of the Y input coupling
Display of the AC component of the signal only, by suppressing the DC
component (10Hz to 10MHz)
Display of the complete signal (0 to 10MHz).
Display of the zero volt reference of the channel.
Enables precise positioning of the trace in the screen using the
POSITION [6] control.
Vertical offsetting of the trace and horizontal alignment in XY mode.
Adjustment of the vertical sensitivity of the Y input according to the
amplitude of the input signal to be observed: 10 calibrated positions
from 5mV to 5V/div.
Continuous adjustment of the vertical sensitivity by attenuation of the
level from 1:1 to 1:2.5; this enables "full-screen" display of the signal
whatever its amplitude. When the button is locked with the stop to the
right, the channel is calibrated.
