5. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

This single-channel oscilloscope is a high-performance instrument integrating all the functions and the
usual presentation of two-curve analogue oscilloscopes. With a 10 MHz bandwidth, it offers very
interesting performance levels while remaining easy to use for novices. To take advantage of its many
possibilities, the user should practise the various steps described in this chapter.
In all cases, it is advisable to connect an LF generator to the oscilloscope input in order to practise
making all the various adjustments. If this is not possible, you can use the probe calibration signal
available on terminal [5].
The mains power supply must never be connected to the inputs of the oscilloscope.

Getting started

Before powering up, check on the label on the back of the instrument that the
mains voltage available is compatible; it also indicates the characteristics of the
fuses to be used.
1. Connect the oscilloscope to the mains using the mains lead supplied.
2. Press the power button [2].
3. Check that the LED [1] comes on.
4. Set [10] to GND, adjust [8] so that the trace passes through the centre of the screen and turn
[12] so that the trace occupies the whole width.
5. Place the instrument in the ambient temperature conditions for at least 5 minutes before
adjusting the intensity [3] and then the focus [4] in order to obtain a fine, bright trace.
