Your frame is delivered with a pre-mounted aero fork with its specific headset.
The counter nut that compresses the bearings was factory adjusted for optimum operation and
accuracy from the very first use.
NOTE: Since the adjustment of the headset and the fitting of the brake calliper requires dismantling
the fork, it is strongly advised that you go to an approved LOOK retailer to have the fork dismantled
and re-fitted fully and correctly. For all maintenance operations we remind you that the fork must be
fitted to a wheel and abnormal wear on the fork ends resulting from scraping on the ground are not
covered by the LOOK guarantee.
NOTE: Before re-fitting the fork on the frame,
apply a film of grease on the threads of the
compression screw, on the bearing thrust
ring, the bearing and inside the counter nut
(see Fig. 6).
Use a lithium grease for the bearing.
1. Insert the bearing thrust ring in the lower
head tube. Make sure that the chamfered
side of the bearing thrust ring faces upwards,
as shown in Fig. 7.
2. Insert the bearing in the bottom of the head
tube (as shown in Fig. 7).
3. Place the fork cone underneath the
bearing. Pivot the fork around the lower
bearing. (Fig. 8)
4. When the fork is in line with the frame
tube, locate the compression screw in
the fork. Tighten the screw to remove all
clearance, while ensuring free rotation of
the fork around the frame. The tightening
torque must not exceed 4 Nm. Once the
clearance is adjusted, re-fit the greased
counter nut and lock it on to the tightening
screw. (Torque: 7 Nm)
