9.2 Drive unit, display and support switch
Description Cause
No support is provided. a) The battery is not sufficiently charged.
b) Do you take long slopes or ride for extended periods with
heavy loads in summer weather? The battery may be too hot.
c) T he motor (DU-E8000), display (SC-E8000) or support switch
(SC-E8000-L) may be incorrectly connected, or there may be a
problem with one or more of them.
d) Speed too high.
e) Are you pedalling?
f) Is the assistance mode switched OFF?
g) Is the system switched on?
The pedals are difficult to use. a) Tyre pressure too low.
b) Assistance mode set to OFF.
c) The battery is not sufficiently charged.
d) Did you switch the system on with your foot on the pedal?
Remedy
a) Check the battery charge. If the battery is almost empty, recharge it.
b) Switch off the system, wait a while, and then try again.
c) Contact your dealer.
d) C heck the display. There is no assistance at speeds in excess of 25 km/h.
e) The bicycle is not a motorcycle. You must also use the pedals.
f) Set the assistance mode to any mode other than OFF. If you continue to feel that no
assistance is provided, contact your dealer.
g) P ress the ON/OFF button to switch on the system again. If you continue to feel that no
assistance is provided, contact your dealer.
a) Pump up the tyres.
b) S et the assistance mode to BOOST. If you continue to feel that no assistance is
provided, contact your dealer.
c) Check the degree of assistance again after charging the battery. If you continue to feel
that no assistance is provided, contact your dealer.
d) Switch the system on again, without applying any pressure to the pedal. If you
continue to feel that no assistance is provided, contact your dealer.
