Foreword
The JET RANGER, manufactured by the Bell Helicopter TEXTRON company, is undoubtedly
one of the best-known helicopter types in the world, and has been built in numerous variants
with different power plants and sizes of cabin. The model re-creates the characteristic appear-
ance of this helicopter.
The white pigmented GRP fuselage is supplied with window and other openings already ma-
chined out. At top front it features a generously dimensioned opening through which completely
assembled Uni-Expert mechanics or Uni-Mechanics 2000 (including silencer) can be fitted; the
assembly is then attached to the fuselage floor and the skid bridge pieces by means of four
screws, with additional support at the top by means of two further mounting points. The tail rotor
drive is based on a proven 2 mm Ø spring steel shaft.
In terms of power system the model provides broad scope for variation: even if fitted with the
mechanics of the „Starlet 50" with a .46 or .50 motor, the model has adequate power for a scale
style of flying. With UNI-Expert mechanics and a .60 motor the Jet Ranger is fully aerobatic,
while a .91 motor in conjunction with Uni-Mechanics 2000 and 7.7:1 reduction gearbox pro-
duces an extremely quiet model which has ample power for any situation.
Since the upper fuselage fairing and the fuselage tail cap are both moulded in GRP, with a high-
quality gloss white surface, finishing is limited to painting on the contrasting colours and
applying the decals supplied. If you purchase one of the optional decal sheets (available sepa-
rately in various colour schemes) the model can even be completed without carrying out any
painting at all.
