Cut the two wooden lugs from one of the strips of plywood supplied (80 x 15 x 3 mm), glue them
to the ends of the cross-piece as shown in the drawing, and carefully hold the cross-piece in its
original position on the fuselage. Drill 1.5 mm Ø pilot-holes through the fuselage and the lugs at
the marked point. Open up the holes in the plywood to 2.2 mm Ø and glue pieces of plywood
about 8 mm long behind the holes in the fuselage. The cross-piece can now be fixed in place on
both sides using 2.2 x 9.5 mm self-tapping screws. Cut through the vertical bar as shown in the
drawing, and fit a further wooden lug as described above.

1.3 Installing the mechanics

1.3.1 Screwing the mechanics to the fuselage floor
Glue the two mechanics supports to the fuselage floor, lining up the holes with the holes in the
fuselage shell. Mark the position of the supports, and roughen the internal surface of the
fuselage floor over this area. Sand the central seam area as flat as possible. These parts can
now be glued in place using UHU plus endfest 300. Fit M3 screws and nuts to hold the parts in
position while the epoxy sets hard.
1.3.2 Bracing the mechanics to the upper fuselage
Glue the two side parts of the upper mechanics brace in the baseplate as shown in the drawing,
and fix this assembly to the upper mounting points on the mechanics by passing M3 x 12 mm
socket-head screws through the side parts.
1.3.3 Installing the mechanics
When the glue has set hard, i.e. when the mechanics supports are securely glued in the
fuselage, remove the M3 retaining screws to allow the mechanics to be fitted. The main
mechanical assembly is secured using four M3 x 16 socket-head cap screws which are fitted
through the skid bars from the underside, through the holes in the fuselage shell and into the
wooden supports.
