c) Testing the rudder system

Figure 1 illustrates the position of the turn fins (A), the metal trim tabs (B), the propeller (C), the rudder system (D) with
the pushrod connector for the steering linkage, and the connection for the water cooling system (hidden).
Check that the rudder system is working correctly. Refer to the instructions in section 9.
Before each use, inspect the rudder system and linkage for signs of damage and ensure that they are securely in
place. If the linkage/fixing is loose or damaged (e.g. loose screws at the entire rear end), repair it before using the
model boat. In case of non-compliance, the linkage rod and/or the rudder system may fall off while the model boat
is moving.
This may result in further damage to the model boat (e.g. to the steering servo). Also, you may lose control over the
model boat, which could lead to uncontrollable damage. Refer to the instructions in section 10.
Check that the tube for the water cooling system is attached correctly, otherwise the motor may overheat.
Metal screw connections must be secured with so-called lock nuts or a drop of thread-locking fluid to prevent them
from becoming loose unintentionally.

d) Adjusting the trim tabs

Two L-shaped metal trim tabs are attached to the rear of the model boat on the left and right-hand sides (fig. 1, position
B). The trim tabs are designed to help the model boat glide and were placed in the optimal position ex works. You can
bend the trim tabs to fine tune the angle of attack. If you wish to adjust the trim tabs, remove them from the hull and
bend them with a suitable tool (e.g. pliers).
A number of factors can affect how the model boat glides. For example the weight of the model boat, the location of
the battery and/or the water conditions (e.g. many or few waves) can affect how the model boat glides. It is therefore
not possible to provide concrete instructions on how to configure the trim tabs. Test the model boat several times until
you find the optimal position.
