e) Range test
Before using the model boat for the first time, charge the battery (and any rechargeable batteries for the transmitter)
in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.
Then perform a range test to make sure the remote control and receiver are within range. Switch on the transmitter,
and then turn on the receiver. Ask someone to help you test the range of the remote control by holding the ready-to-
use model boat while you walk away from the model boat holding the remote control. The remote control should work
smoothly from a distance of at least 50 m.
Caution!
Do not allow people to reach into the spinning area of the propeller. Risk of injury!
f) First use
The model boat can be used only with both parts of the hull attached. Before using the model boat, ensure
that both parts of the hull are attached correctly and locked in place. If the parts are not attached correctly,
they may fall off, or water may leak into the boat and destroy the motor or remote control parts (or cause
the boat to sink). This will void the warranty.
Avoid sudden steering movements, otherwise the model boat may capsize and you may lose control. If you
do not retrieve the model boat quickly, water may leak into the model boat and cause it to sink.
The model boat's construction is designed so that it should normally return to its normal position if it capsizes (i.e.
when the bottom of the hull faces upwards).
If the model boat capsizes, follow the steps below to return it to its original position:
Push the throttle lever briefly to the reverse position as far as it will go (1: throttle lever away from handle), and then
pull it to the forwards position as far as it will go (2: throttle lever towards the handle). Ideally, practice this procedure
a few times near to the edge of the water before using the boat.
