12. Maintenance and cleaning

Regularly check the components and control functions of the electronic system of the model boat. All moving parts
should move freely, but there must be not any slackness in the bearing.
Regularly inspect the tubes in the water cooling system for signs of cracks, and check that they are securely in place.
Clean the outside of the model boat only with a soft, damp cloth. Never use aggressive cleaning chemicals or deter-
gents, as these may damage the surfaces of the model boat.

Only use original replacement parts to replace damaged or worn components.

To repair damage to the hull, use a non water-soluble glue that is suitable for ABS plastics. We recommend using 5
Minute Epoxy glue.
The back of the drive shaft must be lubricated on a regular basis. Lubricate the shaft when the amount of water that
leaks into the hull is higher than usual and/or when the motor makes an unusual noise.
For this reason, remove the shaft completely on a regular basis. Detach the arm in the hull (see fig. 11) and then pull
the shaft out of the back of the boat. Clean the shaft and lubricate it with a biodegradable lubricant. Then replace the
shaft by following the above steps in the reverse order.
"Metal/metal" screw connections must be secured with lock nuts or a drop of thread-locking fluid to prevent
them from becoming loose accidentally.
