For safety reasons, the speed controller features undervoltage protection of the battery, meaning that the speed
controller constantly checks the voltage of the battery.
If the battery voltage drops below a fixed threshold, the speed controller reduces the power of the motor by approx.
25%. If this occurs, the battery only has approximately 30 seconds of residual power (the equivalent of approx.
100 - 150 m) to bring the model boat back to shore on its own. Once the residual power of the battery has run out, the
speed controller will turn out the motor completely.
If the motor stops in order to protect the battery from a harmful overdischarge, you might not be able to
control the model boat and retrieve it from the water.
For this reason, discontinue use in time (but no later than after 4 - 6 minutes of use depending on the operating tem-
perature, battery type, and how you operate the model boat) in order to prevent the battery from overdischarging and
to bring the model boat back to the edge of the water.
Do not use the model boat in adverse conditions such as strong winds or waves, otherwise you may not be able to
retrieve it from the water.
If you notice any unusual noises or a sudden loss in speed or power, discontinue use immediately and establish
the cause of the problem. In most cases, this is likely to be due to seaweed or other objects that are caught in the
propeller and cause the motor to slow down or stop completely. Discontinue use immediately, otherwise the motor
components may overheat and become damaged in case of continuous operation. This will void the warranty. See
also the instructions in section 10. d).
Before using the model boat, check that the water cooling system is working properly. You can do this by blowing air
down a small piece of Bowden cable onto the inlet on the water cooling system (see rudder on fig. 1). The air (or water
when the model boat is moving) must come out of the outlet on the side of the hull.
The opening on the tube must be kept clean, otherwise the water cooling system will not function properly, and the
drive components may overheat and become damaged. This will void the warranty.
Do not use the model boat if the tubes are blocked, kinked or damaged, otherwise the water cooling system
will not function properly.
Carefully place the model boat into the water in a horizontal position. Make sure that the rudder, propeller and turn fins
on the sides are above the ground, and check that the propeller can spin freely.
Gently pull the throttle lever in the direction of the handle. The boat will start to move forwards. To change the direction
of travel, move the steering wheel of the remote control left or right as desired.
The battery life is approximately 4 - 6 minutes. This may vary depending on the battery capacity and how you drive
the model boat. Discontinue use and bring the boat back to the edge of the water before the battery runs out. Open
the hull parts and disconnect the battery. Switch off the transmitter and check whether any water has leaked into the
model boat. If water has leaked inside, it should be drained immediately. Remove the rubber plug located on the top
of the hull (opposite the rudder). Do not allow the draining water to come into contact with the remote control and drive
components during draining.
It is normal for small amounts of water (max. approx. 50 ml per use) to enter the model. Always ensure that
any water is emptied after each use.
Leave the motor and speed controller to cool down to the ambient temperature after use. For this reason, wait for
approx. 5 - 10 minutes before using the model boat again. Leave the hull open to allow the components to cool down
more quickly.
