Troubleshooting

This chapter deals with possible problems and their rectification that are
not directly indicated by a fault display.
The following list of possible problems cannot be considered complete,
as it is not possible to list all possible problems or possible remedial

Cause/Remedy
▶ Plug the K 30 RF/K 40 RF into the heat pump or wall hung condensing boiler.
After plugging in, theK 30 RF/K 40 RF needs some time to become fully active.
▶ Ensure that the K 30 RF/K 40 RF is compatible with the individual control feature
(page 55), update the software of the K 30 RF if necessary ( installation
instructions K 30 RF).
▶ Ensure that the heat pump or wall mounted condensing boiler is compatible with the
individual control feature ( Chapter 3.1.1 or Chapter 3.2.1).
Individual controls or repeaters were previously connected to another system.
▶ Perform a factory reset of the relevant individual control or repeater.
▶ Try to connect again. Use the app to open the K 30 RF/K 40 RF for the connection
process and follow the instructions in the app (press the button on the relevant
individual control or repeater ...).
If entered manually, the SGTIN or key are not correct.
▶ Remove the relevant individual control or repeater from the system using the app
▶ Reconnect with the app.
K 30 RF/K 40 RF is no longer open for the connection process.
▶ Open the K 30 RF/K 40 RF with the app for the connection process and follow the
instructions in the app.
Individual controls or repeaters assume that they are already successfully connected due to
a communication error. This can occur, for example, if the button for connecting is pressed
on several individual controls in quick succession. In this case, several individual controls
want to connect to the K 30 RF/K 40 RF at the same time and the connection processes
overlap.
▶ Perform a factory reset of the relevant individual control or repeater.
▶ Try to connect again. Use the app to open the K 30 RF/K 40 RF for the connection
process and follow the instructions in the app (press the button on the relevant
individual control or repeater ...)
Individual control is too far away from the K 30 RF/K 40 RF and therefore has no wireless
connection.
▶ Position the individual control closer to the K 30 RF/K 40 RF for connection.
The surface-mounted unit of the individual control for the underfloor heating system can be
temporarily plugged onto another flush-mounted unit of an individual control for underfloor
heating system that is closer to the K 30 RF/K 40 RF.
▶ Try to connect again. Use the app to open the K 30 RF/K 40 RF for the connection
process and follow the instructions in the app (press the button on the relevant
individual control or repeater ...).
▶ Then integrate a repeater to improve the wireless range.
During the connection process, the individual controls must communicate directly with the
K 30 RF/K 40 RF; communication during this process via the repeater is not possible for
technical reasons.
In a system with a heat pump, only individual controls for the underfloor heating system can
be connected; in a system with a wall hung condensing boiler, only individual controls for
radiators can be connected
Individual control is only active in the Bosch HomeCom Easy app if remote control Single
Room Control is selected in a heating circuit.
▶ In the relevant heating circuit, select Single Room Control under remote control.
