10 Cleaning and disinfection
10.1 WARNINGS
WARNING OF DAMAGE TO HEALTH BY INVOLVEMENT WITH INFECTIOUS OR PATHOGENIC
GERMS
Infectious and pathogenic germs in the suctioned material may cause damage to health.
As a minimum wear suitable disposable gloves to avoid contact with suctioned

material.
Depending on the patient's condition additional protective measures may be required.
Observe the requirements of the operator.
Carry out the following steps carefully in order to achieve the required minimum of
•
microbes.
WARNING OF POSSIBLE INJURY BY ELECTRIC SHOCK
Switch off the device before cleaning.

Disconnect the device from the power supply.
•
CAUTION WITH DAMAGE TO HEALTH WHEN WORKING WITH DISINFECTANTS
Follow the manufacturer's directions to avoid damage to health.

BEWARE OF DAMAGE TO THE DEVICE BY INCORRECT CLEANING AGENTS
Cleaning agents and disinfectants may damage the surface of the device.
•
Do not use aldehydes or acetone for cleaning and disinfection.
•
Frequent cleaning and disinfection may cause slight discolouration of the plastic parts
•
of the case. However, this will not affect the function.
10.2 Surface of device and holder
Clean and disinfect the surfaces of the device and the "Bag" external container holder regularly, but no
less than once a week and when changing patients.
RESTRICTIONS
Stop using the device if it shows visible damage or if suctioned material has

PREPARATION
Replace the "Bag" external container holder if it shows visible damage or if its
functions are affected.
There are no other restrictions.
