8.2 Information on operation and functions
The vacuum is generated by a diaphragm pump. After switching on, the vacuum pump generates a
vacuum in the tube system and secretion container, which enables the suctioned material to be
removed by suction (through a cuff cannula or a cuff tube with suction attachment). The suctioned
material from the patient is moved to the disposable secretion container or disposable secretion
container system.
