performing calculations on all of the points read in from
the scope, please make sure that the starting point (0) is at
the lefthand edge of the image. If necessary, first use the
HOME
and END keys to precisely position the signal.
Correct results are obtained
only if the waveform
is
positioned exactly right. To select
a ZOOM
window, shift
the visible screen window
using the PgUp/PgDn keys or
bitwise in F5 "WINDOW" mode. In the display, the result is
always displayed together with its mirror image. Evaluation
is performed from the middle of the display window
(f=max) to the lefthand edge of the image (f=0). To perform
FFT analysis, we recommend that you press the HOME key
after performing
the calculation.
This
will cause
the
evaluation windowto
show the FFT curve, andthecurrently
active cursor is positioned exactly in the center of the
window (f=max).
FFT window functions
These can be selected in the "window functions" screen,
and serve to reduce the leakage components in frequency
analysis. They are referenced to the square-wave window
function: triangle, hanning and hamming (see the graphic
on the preceding page).
