XVI. MOVING THE MAIZE CHOPPER
FROM WORKING INTO TRANSPORT
POSITION AND VICE VERSA
1. Moving the machine into transport
position
(figs 46 through 49)
1) Turn the crop guide (fig. 46) in its sup-
port 90° clockwise*.
2) Unlock guide (100, fig. 47) using pin
(101, fig. 48).
3) Pull guide about 10 cm (4") to the front
and remove guide strap (107, fig. 49) lo-
cated under spring plate (103, fig. 47).
4) Detach the complete guide from the feed
unit and attach to the support next to the
hitch clevis.
5) Unlock the frame using pin (104, fig. 49).
6) Turn the frame 90° to the lh* side and
secure strap (105, fig. 49) to the guide
(fig. 47) unsing pin (104, fig. 49).
Note:
*Direction on the rh quattro unit; on the lh
unit rotate in the opposite direction.
2. Moving the machine into working
position
(figs 46 through 49)
Perform the above procedure in reverse
order.

XVII. SERVICING
1. Chains
(figs 41, 48 and 49)
1) Clean chain (106, fig. 49) and sprockets
as required.
2) Lubricate chain (106) daily after work to
prevent rust formation. We recommend
the use of an oil that decomposes eco-
logically.
Note:
To perform the following steps 3) and 4) the
machine must be in transport position!
3) Lubricate chain tensioner (107, fig. 48)
via grease nipple.
4) Check the function of the chain breakage
device:
Press the bracket with your fingers (see
arrow in fig. 41). the bracket should de-
flect about 1 cm (3/8") and then auto-
matically return to the initial position.
If this is not the case, clean the sur-
roundings of the bracket thoroughly to
ensure that system works smoothly.
If it still does not work readjustment will
be necessary: see XVIII.2.
