3. Regularly inspect hydraulic lines (hoses, tubes, connections) and renew when found defective or
aged replacement parts shall at least meet the appropriate technical specifications of the ma-
chine manufacturer!
4. When plugging in the hydr. quick-disconnect plug of a hose always ensure the hydr. socket is
not pressurized!
5. Before starting to perform any work at the hydraulic system, stop the tractor engine, lower the
machine onto the ground and depressurize the system by repeatedly lifting/lowering the ma-
chine!
6. The shut-off valve on the hydr. cylinder must be closed in transport!
7. Position an uncoupled hydr. hose in such a way to ensure clean coupling plugs!
4.
DANGER and safety decals
Good safety practice requires that you become familiar with the various
Attention:
safety decals, the type of warning and the area, or particular function re-
lated to that area, requiring your SAFETY AWARENESS!
This machine has been marked with safety decals of the new generation, i.e. without text. The de-
cals are shown and explained in chapter XIX.
5.
Storage safety
1. Store the unit in an area away from human activity.
2. Do not permit children to play on or around the stored unit.
3. Use the provided jack stand supports, store in stable machine mode!
1. MH 180SU: Relieving gear (fig. 7, 8 and 13)
The lh hitch pin (when facing into direction of transport) is incorporated in the relieving gear, latch
(52) must be lowered (lock position) prior to hitching.
DANGER:When hitching the chopper using a quick hitch, ensure the ball sleeves of the
slightly greased lower hitch pins stay free rotatable (fig. 6: linch pin beyond
ball sleeve!)
2. Connect hydr. hoses first. This provides lateral adjustability when hitching the machine.
The machine has been equipped with a multiple way selector (1, fig. 2), attached near the chute,
with selector positions:
(3) = lateral adjustment of the machine;
(4) = rotation of the chute.
3. Attach the draft links. Adjust draft links to obtain laterally a horizontal position of the machine when
lifted with the 3-point hydraulics.
4. Attach the top link. Both top link and draft links must be parallel. For this reason the machine has
three attaching points for the top link at different heights. Additionally (if available) the attaching point
of the top link at the tractor may be exchanged. By adjustment of the length of the top link the
desired angle of the guides can be set.
5. Always use stabilisers or check chains when attaching the machine to the tractor to prevent any
sideways movement both in working and in transport position.
The guides are to be adjusted to run parallel to the ground by means of the top link. Preferably use
the rear hole in the hitch frame.
6. Attach the pto drive shaft (fig. 35).
A: MH 180SU mounted aside the tractor, rear pto shaft rotating clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND9627' to the chain box.
B: MH 180SU mounted onto the rear of a reverse driving tractor, rear pto shaft rotating
clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND9627' to the lh machine input spline shaft (facing inte direc-
tion of travel when working).
C: MH 180S front mounted, front pto rotating counter-clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND9627' to the rh machine input spline shaft (facing inte direc-
tion of travel when working).
D: MH 180S front mounted, front pto rotating clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND9627' modified with freewheel clutch '56.137.40' or clutch
housing '35.31.54', to the rh machine input spline shaft (facing inte direction of travel when
working).
