E. MH 180S QUATTRO front mounted, front pto rotating counter clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND94050' onto lh machine input spline shaft (facing in the direc-
tion of travel when working).
F. MH 180S QUATTRO front mounted, front pto rotating clockwise
Attach standard pto drive shaft 'ND94050' modified with freewheel clutch '56.214.40' onto rh
machine input spline shaft (facing in the direction of travel when working).
If necessary the pto drive shaft should be shortened to prevent damage when it is in its shortest po-
sition. Care must be taken to ensure the pto drive shaft is not shortend too much (see fig. 1 and in-
structions on pto drive shaft).
7. Always connect the power supply line directly to the tractor battery.
Position the control box at a place where it can be controlled easily and attach it using the self ad-
hesive velcro tape. Connect the control cable to the machine.
8. Install the chute (see IPL, sect. M).
1) Remove the gear rim (21) prior to installing the chute and slacken the 4 attachment bolts of the
mounting plate (27, IPL, sect. C) 2 revolutions
2) Position the lower chute onto the machine.
3) Onstall the gear rim as follows:
a) Place both chute and cylinder in their centre position.
b) Put the centre part of the gear rim into the cylinder; ensure the marked tooth of the cylin-
der fits to the the centre of the gear rim.
c)
Install the gear rim onto its attachment surface and attach it well.
d) First attach the two horizontal bolts of the attachment plate (27), then the other two.
e) Check if the chute can rotate over the full angle.
Note: In the center of the middle chute a hoisting lug is provided. Hoisting the chute at this
lug, avoids damage to the chute and keeps it in the upright (= installed) position.
When (re-)installing chute parts ensure the lip of the lower part fits inside
Attention:
the upper part.
9. Unfastening the quick release mechanism by moving handle (7, fig. 4) up, the upper chute half can
be folded downwards to enable passage under low gateways, railway-arches, etc.
Ensure chute halves are coupled under sufficient tension (adjustable through nuts (5)); always lock
handle (7) over locking pin and secure with spring clip. This is no transport position (see VI.6.).
10. MH 180SU: Lower hitch (fig. 5 and 11)
Attention:
Never position lower hitch (10) underneath pto drive shaft. This to avoid
damage of the latter.
1.
Unfolding to side mounted position
DANGER:When hitching in the chopper using a quick hitch, ensure the ball sleeves on
the slightly greased lower hitch pins stay free rotatable (fig 6: linch pin be-
yond ball sleeve!)!
Note: In case of light tractors and/or excessive vertical play in the draft links, the rh draft link must
be shortened adequately, on order to keep the guide tips clear of the ground during unfold-
ing; shortening or repositioning of the top link may be necessary in some cases as well. For
adjustment/repositioning of a link, support machine on jack stand (locked in center hole).
Some light tractors require the relieving spring (51) to be hooked into the rear attachment
hole of the lever (50).
1) Adjust machine to max. left position (seen in direction of travel for transport): latch (52) to be
down (fig. 13).
2) Detach pto drive shaft from machine, open lower transport catch (11) and hold open with spring
(12); lower machines completely by hitch hydraulics, then open top transport catch (11) and hold
open with spring (12).
3) Pull the folding frame free of the catches, using tractor power.
4) Lift machine with hitch hydraulics as high as possible, completely retract supporting wheel; then
completely unfold manually to stretched position.
5) Lock stretched position with locking hook (13); if required use wrench (15). Locking hook must
catch locking lugs (14) under tension; tension can by adjusted with nuts of lugs (14).
6) Move chain box to horizontal position, attach universal joint (53, fig. 32) to rh drive shaft and at-
tach pto drive shaft (17) to chain box (16).
