5. Application
5.1 Tire removal
WARNING – Risk of accident from damaged
rims and tires!
If the tire or rim is damaged during mounting/
removal, this may lead to dangerous or life-
threatening situations when driving.
¶
Tires are to be mounted/removed only
by appropriately qualified and trained
personnel.
¶
Follow the mounting and removing
instructions of Wdk (obtainable in German
and English):

Summary of criteria.
$
Tire overheating.
¶
Adjust the pressure to the type of tire.
¶
Use the rim guard for easily damaged rims
(e.g. alloy rims).
¶
Use a sufficient amount of lubricant.
¶
Interrupt the removal process immediately
in the event of any anomalies, e.g.
abnormal noise.
Additional information on mounting runflat and UHP
tires.
Warning: Risk of damage to RFT and UHP
tires!
Danger of tire rupture (on the inside/outside)
from working at high speeds with cold tires.
¶
Tire core temperature at least 15 °C.
¶
Before removing the tire, heat it with an
electric tire heater.

Remove all balance weights on the rim.
!
Always establish the rim and tire data prior to
removal/mounting. The method of attachment,
pressure and accessories required can then be
planned in advance.
!
Prior to mounting/removing the tire, check all
guards for wear. Replace the wheel-guard hoods if
necessary.

Before removing and re-mounting the tire, check
for signs of wear on all plastic parts (A) and (B) as
indicated on the label (C). Replace the wheel-guard
hoods if necessary.

5.1.1 Adjusting the guide rails
The variants allow for an adjustment of the four moving
guide rails and of the permissible values as shown in
the following figure:
1. Pull the slide (A) out.
2. Move the moving part of the guide rail to the desired
position.
3. Release the slide (A) and make sure it is locked in the
hole corresponding to the desired position (the guide
rail cannon move).
